Holidays

I am trying to make a better effort at blogging. I'm glad/sad that the only people noticing are John's sisters who live within 10 minutes of our house, but I guess it should be more of a record for us anyway. Our thanksgiving was great. We are so blessed to live close to family. We had a lovely week visiting with John's sister Christine and her family who visited from Seattle. We spent a lot of time with John's parents, sister Marja and her family, as well as my sister Laura. Our pies were fantastic. Somehow we only ended up with parts of 2 pies and no thanksgiving leftovers, but the pies were indeed delicious.

As has become tradition for John and I, we went shopping on black Friday. Before you forget that I love sleeping more than anything but my two boys, we did not go out at midnight. You see, there are still great sales happening at 10, 11, or even noon. This is our tradition. I didn't think we would go this year (due to our sweet, but very demanding Dean), but John's sisters wanted to hit a few stores. We were geared up to battle Dean and his hatred of the car seat, but our brother-in-law graciously volunteered to watch Dean. We had such a good time at the Bosch store that we bought a new blender that comes with a 5 year warranty. We burn through them about every 6 months.

Unfortunately, Dean got so thrown off his routine last week and got sick that this week has been very hard on me. But on a positive note, he is growing so fast and learning so much. I love watching him learn. He is now proficient in getting his hands in his mouth and smiling at us when we walk into the room or talk to him. He is very close to laughing and we can't wait to hear it. I don't care what any other mothers say, my little boy is the cutest baby ever. See...

  5. He is so cute!!! Look at him!!! Oooooh. I'm excited for the day that we will finally get to meet our little Dean! :) And we'll need to stop by the Bosch store next time we're up there. A whole store devoted to Bosch - that just seems like a good idea. As does a 5 year warranty on a blender. That's like 10 blenders for the price of one at your rate. ;)
